Abstract: In this paper a matrix model is developed to analyze the growth and structure of uneven-aged forest stands and a linear programming technique is used to determine sustained-yield regulation regimes including the residual stock, harvest, stand structure, and cutting cycle, which would maximize the timber volume,or timber value,or present value of periodic harvests. The method was applied to Abies nephrolepis uneven-aged stands in Mudanjiang forest region in Heilongjiang Province as an illustration.
