DIGITAL SPACKLE CORRELATION METHOD (DSCM) FOR MEASUREMENT OF WOOD COMPRESSION ELASTIC MODULUS

Abstract

Abstract:

Elastic modulus of the 17 and 50 loblolly clones were measured by DSCM . The result showed E_L, E_T and E_R of the 17 loblolly clone were 6 110, 1 207, 1 576 Mpa, respectively. Those of the 50 loblolly clone, however, were 5 965, 1 308, 1 606 Mpa, respectively. In addition, the method of DSCM for the compression elastic modulus of loblolly was right and proved by resistance strain gages. The error was 1%～7%. DSCM have some virtues, such as simple optical setup, convenient measurement, etc.
