Abstract: The hepialid moth,Phassus nodus Chu et Wang,is a new serious forest pest in China.The larvae bore and tunnel into the pith of tree stems; consequently the trees wilt and die. The paper described the host-plant species,the adult and larval behaviour,and their living environment.
