Abstract: The full understanding of technical and economical level of wood industry of our country is one of the essential requirements in working out the medium and long-term plans and strategy for developing science and technology of the industry. In this study the method of establishing targets system for comprehensive appraising technical and economical level and "Scientific and technical measurement model" is firstly used, i. e. a quantitative method is used to reflect the present level of China's wood industry and it's change in recent years. Besides, the author concretely analyses all targets on the basis of the data obtained and puts forward a proposal for increasing the total technical and economical level of China's wood industry in the future.
