Abstract: This paper introduces briefly the history of study on the forest valuation in China. A few different viewpoints and basic theories argued among forestry economists are put forward. Such as whether forest valuation exists or not, what the nature of forest valuation is, how to decide the forest land grade with it, its essential theory and the measurement way. The authors also think some focuses under discussion Will be further studied.
