Abstract: Acetylation of wood has been one of the most active research subjects inthe field of wood chemical modification.This article briefly reviews theprinciple, the history and the current situation of wood acetylation. Fourmethods of acetylation and properties of acetylated wood-based products areintroduced. The problem of using this technology is also mentioned.
