INITIAL CLASSIFICATION OF BIOCLIMATOLOGICAL REGION OF OLIVE IN HUBEI PROVINCE

Abstract: 14 bioclimatological factors related to growing and developing of olive, from 81 sample data in Hubei province have been used in principal component analysis,as a result,6 bioclimatological regions are determined. Temperature and sunshin play two leading roles among the 14 factors and reflect main difference between regions. Low temperature is a limited factor for developing olive production. Although it's possible to develop olive production in Ⅴ, Ⅵ regions, in economic efficiency, developing other suitable economic trees is superior to olive, because of some unfavourable climate factors. Drought in winter, shown the largest variance among the 14 factors, is one of the problems which must be solved for olive production in the province January mean temperature has a close relationship with most of temperature factors, it's the best index to stand for temperature.
